Ginjer is agnostic to the Network Server in use. You may pick up any of the following network server to stream data to our platform :
If you can't find your network, go to Setup -> Network. You can configure your own network by following the instructions given in the Network section.
User needs to fill in the details related to the device. Starting with Device Type :
Device Type : Different manufacturers offer a variety of device series. Users are requested to select a device of their choice from the pre-defined list. You can choose from the options provided by SenRa, or if necessary, you can "Create Your Own Device."
You can find the list of predefined hardware by selecting 'Predefined' :
Note : User can apply search on the basis of device type or manufacturer.
If one cannot find the hardware-type in this list provided by SenRa, they can click on 'Create your own Hardware' :
User needs to pick up from the existing manufactures present in the list or can pick 'Others' to create one on the platform.
Once selected, you are requested to provide the following Device Details.
Device EUI: This is the 16-digit unique identifier of the device, known as the DevEUI.
Device Name: The name assigned to the device within the project.
Location: Users can assign devices to different locations within a project. All available locations can be found in the dropdown menu. Select the desired location for your device to proceed. For new users, a default location is created automatically.
Part: Locations can be categorized as either indoors or outdoors. For indoor locations, you will also need to specify the particular part of the location where the device is installed.
Main Output: Each device can transmit multiple sensor data points. You need to select the most critical output relevant to your specific use case. This selected output will be prominently displayed in the main views across the platform. You can update or change this selection at any time. For devices that are not pre-defined by SenRa, the main output will default to the raw data received from the device. If you wish to configure additional outputs or adjust the current configuration, please refer to the 'Decoder' and 'Hardware' sections.
Position: This indicates the installation position of the device.
For new users, it's recommended to add a device using a default location. As detailed in the Location section, you can have multiple locations within a project, and each device can belong to any of these locations. Simply select the appropriate location from the dropdown menu.
You are almost done with adding a LoRaWAN Device. The next step is to make changes in the LoRaWAN Network Server (LNS) where the device is provisioned at. This step is crucial for establishing integration between the LNS where the device is provisioned and the Ginjer IoT analytics platform. The default integration method is HTTPs, and this can be configured within the Network section.
To do so, first let's access the LNS selected for the device :
Next, let's copy this HTTPs integeration URL :
Finally, the HTTPs integeration requires an 'Authorization' in the header. Generate your Authorization Key, copy and paste it into the LNS HTTPs integeration :
Different networks have unique methods of integrating with the application platform. Ginjer supports various networks, and you can find a step-by-step guide for integration using different LNS (LoRaWAN Network Servers) in the 'Networks' section.
Finally, it is requested to turn on the device :
Congratulations, you have successfully added the device on our platform :
Once done, your device will be successfully added and visible in the Device List :
As soon as the device starts to stream packet and all integrations are done properly, the list will be updated :
To learn more about how to read this list - go to View Devices. To learn how to add devices of other protocols, checkout the other protocols under Add Device section.
